ILMX003 A Morphological Assortment of Galaxies

This theme came hot off the heels of Neil deGrasse Tyson's excellent Cosmos series. That and because right after love songs, titles alluding to the galaxy, planets, stars and the moon dominate my playlist. Must just be the kind of music I gravitate to. Geddit?!

Anyway, I do love that this mix though is not overtly "space" sounding, maintaining a level of warmth and humanity that I especially wanted to evoke in the first dip into deep space. It took a while to form a story that could do the music justice but once I sent it off to Stacey, her enthusiastic response and total alignment made it the right choice.

This is also the first ILMX (of many to come) to feature a new artist! Thankfully I didn't have to look very far. An incredible colleague of both Alex and mine at Disney, Stacey created this dreamy scene of a wistful girl looking into the night sky, thinking about all that she's yet to explore. I love how this image compliments the human aspect of the space theme, and the spiral burst of colours in the ether.
